the cradled pwrrunpb and thiccc sockliner makes the step in feel of this shoe fantastic compared to the peregrine. it stays soft and bouncy below freezing too, unlike eva foams.i’d even argue one COULD use this for a road to trail shoe.the mesh upper traps dust, easily, and the bright green colorway then makes that trapped dust/dirt stand out in a pattern that reveals the shoe’s construction. it’s kind of weird. it’s the first trail shoe i’ve had where i’ve felt i needed to wash out the upper for its own sake. the gusseted tongue plus extra over tongue layer fit very well and stop debris ingress down by the laces.the sole could maybe use an extra 0.5-1mm of lug depth, but it does a decent job of gripping in and clearing mud without being a mud shoe.i don’t even notice the rock plate, in a good way.but wet logs, roots, or rocks? watch out and be careful!sure this is no vibram megagrip, but as durable as Saucony’s pwrtrac outsole is, it can be slippery if not almost sketchy. if i could ask one thing, it would be for Saucony to work on their wet grip across their entire line.
