They are light and comfortable. I do think they run a little big in size compared to the average out there. The ion mask technology to keep your feet dry does work. Drop water on them and it just runs off. The one and only complaint about these that I have is that they are not breathable. They are made of a microfiber material instead of leather. Leather breaths. These do not. After wearing these all day my socks feel wet to the touch when I take them off. I do not have this problem when wearing leather boots.I even did a test and made sure to wear the same type socks wearing my old leather boots and these new Magnums. At the end of the day in the leather my socks feel dry to the touch. At the end of the day after wearing the Magnums my socks feel wet to the touch. I wear a wool blend socks that are supposed to wick the moisture away from your feet in order to stay dry all day. So, for anyone considering these keep in mind that stepping in a puddle your feet will remain dry, but after long hours they will be wet depending on the socks. My feet never felt like they were wet or sweating, but clearly the socks feel wet. I have to wonder how long the boots will hold up given this problem. Seems like they would rot from the inside out.If these were made of leather they would be perfect !!!EDIT:It has now been 3 1/2 months and the lining behind my heel is wearing out. I guess they are not perfect after all even if they were leather. I have never had a pair of boots wear out this quickly. I am not hard on my boots and there is no reason for this to have happen. I will not buy again based on this experience. I sent Magnum an email. We will see how and if they respond. Back to "Made in the USA" Red Wings for me.After a couple of weeks of break in period, these are very comfortable. Being electrically shock safe is a plus for me, I do walk and stand in these on a 12 hour shift and I don't feel the need to remove them. Their waterproof feature works excellent, and they keep my feet dry. On the down side, these are heavier than I expected I have used safety toe shoes that are lighter than these, however not as comfortable, and definitively I would not recommend them for hot environments, they can get very hot, and they do not breath much, I suppose this is due to the waterproof treatment. Have been wearing them for 3 months and they still look like new. After 3 months these are completely broke in, they are the most comfortable work both I have tried, amongst, red wing, 5.11 and some custom handmade boots, these are the most comfortable ones. they are completely water proof but they do not breathe at all, these do get extremely hot just by the sun hitting them. Also the manufacturer does not recommend their use in hot environments(due to cement construction). they got a little bit squeaky but I can only hear them in very quiet places. and i work in a noisy environment so I don't mind. They are wearing ok. after 6 months of 12 hours a day use the back of the heel is showing some wear.I also have received a lot of compliments about the boots looking good, even thou I don't shine them, heck I don't even clean them as they wouldn't last clean for 5min at my job site. Overall I'm pleased with the purchase and with the magnum brand. If you need safety toe, electrical hazard approved, water resistant, these cannot be beaten. If you need breathable, silent, and work in hot environments avoid these at all costs. even the manufacturer warns you against using these in hot environments.I've had my first pair of Magnum boots for six years and used and abused them at construction sites. I spend perhaps four months a year on industrial construction site and the original pair held up very well over the years. Definately these boots have seen better days, so the reason for buying an identical second pair. These boots are extremely comfortable and offers very good traction. I use them around the house when mowing the lawn to shoveling the driveway. At the consruction sites, these boots are so comfortable that I don't miss my Timberlands. I did notice that with these boots, lace hooks are made of plastic instead of brass (or some sort of metal) on the original boots, which has lots of scratches but held up over the years. I've had the second pair for about three months now and these are just as comfortable as the original pair.I would highly recommend, if you are into light construction work or factory assembly work. I just don't know if these are going to hold up to heavy construction work, especially with plastic lace hooks.Till now I hace the time to review! This is a GOOD GOOD PRODUCT!!! I am assure to say the best pound by pound in market...My job is an Husbandry Agent,Boarding Officer or Simply agent for the Vessels that transit the Panama Canal(that is were I live, in Panama)I was looking for these: Light weight, anti electrical hazard, anti slippery for water and oil, waterproof, antimicrobial, and good looking... Some best, like: columbia or Timberland have it 2 or 3 atributes, but not all my request list..I have to mentioned that I am a Diabetic person, so the weight factor is very sensible for me.. I was nervous to do a good selection, due the fact i know it maybe I will not be comfortable all day wearing the boot, but for my surprise I can do it.This boot have kevlar on tip and not steel(kevlar is as much resistent for impacts and weightless), plus your feet is all around protected.I have more than 8 months wearing and my boots is taking all the job. Totally recommend!!
