Salomon Men's X ULTRA 4 MID GTX, Green Gables/Black/Cumin, 14
I have worn them for a number miles now and though they are soft, provide enough ankle support and fit well, I wish the sole was a little more supportive. I did feel like my heel was a little sore on both feet after wearing for over 8 hours straight. I felt I had to take the shoes off to breath and relax a little bit.A bit more cushion would help for long days on the your feet.I wasn't sure if I wanted to order these online. I like to try shoes on before purchasing to make sure they fit. These came before they were scheduled to arrive and fit perfectly. I'm glad I ordered them and would order from this seller again!Very good Product , Highly Recommended, extremly grateful to the seller for fast shippingOnly issue I had was the green color of the boot is a lot different than the picture. A brighter green, but nothing dirt and mud can’t fix.Really impressive shoe with fantastic quality construction from laces and how you lace up to the fit and feel of the shoe. "Sure Footed" with wonderful support is a way I would describe the shoe. Also, great looking and they always get complimented.I loved the Quest Prime GTX, but they aren't available. I suspect it's because the toe box always separates from the sole and they may discontinue them. That's ok since they have a 2 year warranty. The 4Ds were too big and bulky for my every day use. The Ultra 3 felt awful. These Ultra 4 were like putting on my old favorite boots. Instant comfort, no break in period. And looking at the construction, I think these may hold up beyond the 2 year warranty period. They’re teal. Picture shows them as green.Still coming to terms with the color.Green would have been much sweeter!I know my European shoe size. Salomon is a European brand, so their Euro size was spot on. These shoes are very light and extremely comfortable. They offer very good grip and are very warm. I wore them in December in Northeastern US and didn't feel cold.Been wanting and waiting for this shoe since 1 month. This is the best shoe that you can buy if you're into hiking and trekking.Size - True to size (Runs slightly larger due to wide size) would suggest true to size. Here are the pros and cons of the shoe.Pros. -The top selling shoe worldwide for all kinds of hikings and trekkings.Comfortable fit with wide fit for those with wide feet.Waterproofed by Goretex.Rugged design with aggressive outsole for those slippery terrains. You can absolutely wear this shoe on any terrain and even on casual wear.Cons -The price is very high as compared to the worldwide price.Other colourways not available in India(wanted the white butterscotch variant). This shoe isn't available anywhere in India (searched the whole internet and friend circle for this shoe).Summary -If you got the money. Definitely buy these without even thinking of any alternative option as there are no competitors for this shoe. These will definitely be with you for the next 5-6 years easily.Go for True to Size.I have normal to slightly wide feet, so the Ultra 3's were a no go as they run quite narrow. Luckily, the Ultra 4's do not fit narrow and have more of a regular width. I first tried the Ultra 4 shoes, but returned them as they have an issue with digging into my ankles (appears to be a common issue with many other reviewers), so I tried the Ultra 4 Mid's to see if the higher ankle would eliminate that issue. And it did! Good price as well on Amazon compared to other retailers.I took these out for the first time today for a day hike in the AB Rockies. They fit great out of the box, no need to break them in. They are very light, way lighter than my last pair of hiking shoes that were a different brand. They have great support and stability for the foot/ankle. The cushioning is good against rocks and roots on the trails. The Gore-Tex worked like a charm to keep my feet 100% dry crossing streams. This was worth the trade off of them running a bit warmer as is the case for all Gore-Tex, but my feet never got too hot or uncomfortable. Also, I was fortunate to not run into any of the issues other reviewers noted. Overall, these boots are both comfortable and perform well! I'm hopeful they will last for years to come, guess time will tell.I had Salomon X Ultra 2 mid GTX which I have used for 6 Himalayan & few Sahyadri treks but the toe cap broke in the last trek. Upgraded to Salomon X Ultra 4 mid wide GTX. Although I have narrow feet but I still find the wide more comfortable. You can fit snugly by tightening the laces and it leave some room in toes to wriggle. If you expected beautiful green shoes you’l be greatly disappointed. They are flashy blue and the seller is charging 30$ to return a false advertised product.Las compré para mi esposo y le fascinaron. Son cómodas, resistentes y bonitas. Pidió del número que usa normalmente y si le quedaron. Son sus primeras botas de senderismo y las siente bien.
